 In Awareness Through Movement® class you become the author of your own experience. Awareness Through Movement is a chance for you to study how you function, think and move in daily life. There are literally hundreds of explorations or lessons available in Awareness Through Movement.class. Each class is an exploration of some aspect of functioning. For example we might explore how you arise from the floor from sitting. We might explore how you breathe or have come to use your eyes, how you co-ordinate the movements of your eyes, head and pelvis and spine, how you can move with grace, ease and efficiency. We work to eliminate the unconscious mistakes and actions you make that are not necessary for simple elegant movement to take place. We work to give you new alternatives and perceptions of yourself that will expand your potential, self concept, ability to think for yourself, and act in new refined ways. Awareness of yourself is hidden in generalities. You may have been told all your life that you are clumsy and now hold the general belief you can't learn to be elegant. Awareness Through Movement offers you the opportunity to evolve into how you would like to be in the world, based on your own internal perception of yourself rather than being held to the lifelong memories that have historically been the basis of your actions.
Awareness Through Movement class is usually an hour, perhaps more. Intensive weekends and longer sessions are available several times a year. You come to class wearing clothing that is warm, comfortable and easy to move in and then the dance between us begins as I set the stage for you to learn about yourself in. It can be very exciting. If you are willing to spend a few moments each week to move your attention toward the organic potential for learning that is within you, then come to class.
